Some more from the Bonsai Days Blog from a local exhibition in Japan.

For someone starting out with bonsai, it’s always a nice thing to go at workshop’s. You meet new folks with the same interest, you see all kinds of trees, you learn new technique but for me the most important thing is talking to the „oldies“ and absorb all their knowledge in the short time throw out  the workshop.

Not all workshops are the same, there’s the theory ones, the one with lot of talking, the one with very little talking, the ones where there always somebody disturbing the group, and the ones where everybody is an expert and the one where you are alone with the master. If you have been in such workshops you know what I am talking about.

Last Saturday I went on a one-man-workshop!! It was only me and the master was concentrated in explain me everything in a way that I understood. I am still…

Sto decidendo la pianta da portare alla mostra di Lugano e sostanzialmente la scelta si ferma a due soluzioni, diverse sia per tipo di pianta sia per allestimento.
La prima soluzione e quella che vorrei portare è un bosco di faggio…con me da parecchi anni e frutto di uno scambio con Nicola, ormai ha raggiunto una buona maturità anche se per essere al top avrà bisogno di ancora anni di coltivazione

Altra possibilità è portare la zelkova ma non avendo shoin di ginepri o pini, dovrei accompagnarla a una più grossa in una composizione a tre

L’unica scelta possibile sarebbe questo ginepro… Pianta da giardino che coltivo da molti anni e dal tronco interessante…purtroppo la squama non è il massimo e andrebbe anche rinvasato. Considerato però la maturità degli shari e dei jin e per il fatto che comunque non è una pianta con squama pregiata potrebbe avere il suo…
